Otakon's Attendance Rises by More Than 4,000 in 2018

Otakorp Inc. announced on Monday that the total number of attendees for this year’s Otakon event was 29,293. The number includes those who purchased badges as well as staff, dealers, artists, industry, contractors, guests, and press. The total number of paid registrants was 26,590.

The total attendance was up over 4,000 from last year’s total of 24,894.

Otakon 2017 took place from August 10-12 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. It was the 25th convention, and the second year the convention was being held in D.C. instead of its previous location in Baltimore, Maryland. The convention’s first year in D.C. saw a drop in attendance.
