Rei Mikamoto‘s original manga ran from 2009-2017, inspired live-action film
The September issue of Kadokawa‘s Comic Beam magazine revealed on Friday that Rei Mikamoto will launch a second Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw manga series titled Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw refresh (seen left in image below) in the magazine’s next issue on September 12.
The original manga centers around Geeko Nokomura, who is in a lone struggle to confront her classmate Nero Aoi. Nero turned all of their classmates into zombies. To get to her, Geeko cuts down all of her former classmates.
Mikamoto launched the original manga in Comic Beam magazine in 2009 and ended it in March 2017. Kadokawa published the manga’s 13th and final compiled book volume in the same month.
A live-action film adaptation premiered opened in Japan in 2016.
